Listening to what you read

Some readers have difficulty understanding what they are reading. It may be that the vocabulary slows them down, or they’re unsure of the phrasing. I remember wishing I could hear difficult words pronounced for me. How about you? Try an experiment – listen to a book as you follow along in the text. If you find it helpful, then it may be that having the audio version of your school textbooks and novels would be helpful, too.

Learning Ally’s 1 in 5 initiative brings this service to you. Take a look. Learn about dyslexia. See if the audio texts you need are available. Talk it over with a parent.
